Individual Assignment #1:

The major characters in this story so far are Henry and Captain Dan. The minor characters are Patsy, Hank, Billy, Paul, Jimmy, the old Frenchman, and Samuel Watson (Uncle Sam). The minor characters affect the main character's in many ways, for example Henry can't stop thinking about Patsy back on the farm, he also wonders if she ever is thinking about him. The Frenchman had helped Henry by feeding him, clothing him, and taking him to a hospital in Switzerland. Uncle Sam tells Henry how he is going to get to England through a series of directions so he doesn't get caught. Hank, Billy, Paul, and Jimmy affected both Captain Dan and Henry. They were the loyal crew of "Out of the Blue" they helped defend the plane and were loyal to one another. A decision i disagree with is from Henry. I don't think he should have went into war just to prove himself to his father as to what he was capable of doing. I disagree very strongly to his reasoning to enter the war. My thinking has changed in that I should value being able to live in safety, and that I shouldn't let people in authority intimidate to a point where I could put my life on the line.

Great job of giving specific responses as to how the major and minor characters interact. Stories need both to be effective.

It's good to realize how good we have it; we often take things for granted. Children often feel they have to prove themselves and that's also unfortunate.

Nicely done if all the punctuation errors are overlooked. You have lots of spelling errors, run-on sentences, no paragraphing...not how an 8th grader should be writing. Always proof your work before posting!
